About MarketPlace Interiors
Heidi Jinks and Laurie Elliott
Proprietors Laurie Elliott and Heidi Jinks opened Marketplace Interiors in June of 2009. The 4,000 square foot shop’s interior space is filled with fine home furnishings, antiques, art, accessories, and all sorts of interesting finds – all hand-selected by over 17 vendors.
It’s like 21 shops under one roof – that’s what you get with MarketPlace Interiors. Some of Tampa Bay’s most talented interior designers shop with confidence at MarketPlace Interiors, relying on the discerning eyes of our vendors – many of whom are talented designers and shop owners themselves. Beginning this fall, MarketPlace Interiors will also be utilizing an additional 2,000 square feet of beautiful courtyard space in the rear of the store to feature wonderful stone statues, fountains, benches and urns.
Laurie has dabbled in retail since college. After she and her family moved to Tampa in 1998, Laurie decided to open her first home furnishings retail store. Located in South Tampa, Magnolia opened during the summer of 2000. Laurie’s passion for design and love of the details that existed in merchandise were quickly recognized in the Tampa community. Six years later, she sold the successful Magnolia and decided to take some time off to be a mom to three little girls. Though in 2009, the retail bug bit her again and MarketPlace Interiors was born.
Heidi holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Savannah College of Art and Design. After graduating from SCAD, Heidi worked as a floor designer, buyer and Interior Designer. She has worked with architects, builders and homeowners in residential design focusing on both the primary and secondary home markets. Throughout life as a young girl, and now as a wife and mom, Heidi has always been inspired by beautiful things and her work as a designer has allowed her to enjoy the rewards of taking a house and turning it into a home.
